Why would the Flames do that? You’re taking on 2 more years for about $2 million and a player that is 4 years older. And the extra stuff you add is worth way more than the slight negative value Frolik has.

Cause Parise is a top 6 winger still and Calgary is in win now mode.

Even if they are, they have a young enough core to sustain this, while Parise would just shorten their window. And no matter what their situation, this is a giant overpay by the Flames.

Yeah don't see Zach Parise leaving his homestate of Minnesota for Calgary, Zero percent chance he waives his NMC for Calgary.

Their prospect pool isn't impressive and Lucic is terrible, he isn't going to rebound in Calgary. Frolik is gone after this season if not sooner, Gawdin will never play in the NHL and Gillies is a 4th string goalie so 2-2nds isn't that much to sacrifice to get rid of Lucic and get Parise.

I disagree, I think Parise wants to win and he would waive it for a contender since he knows that the Wild's days of contending are over for a while.

The problem is the extra 2 years & $2 million. While the Flames don’t have a great prospect pool, they have a great group of young players (Valimaki, Andersson, Dube, Kylington, Tkachuk, etc.) that will be good for years to come.

Sure but they should be going for it and worry about those two years later. Yes they have a nice group of young defensemen and Tkachuk but Dube hasn't showed much yet, they really should be adding to push for a cup.
I don't think this is all that great for Minnesota but that roster is a mess over ther.

I think Calgary would rather 6 good seasons than 2 slightly better seasons, 2 good seasons, and 2 horrible seasons. (Taking into account Parise vs. Lucic’s age)

I don't know what Calgary would want but 2 good seasons, 2 okay seasons and 2 bad seasons of Parise will increase their odds of winning a cup then
4 terrible seasons of Lucic will.
