I disagree, Wennberg has dropped but he’s still a talented player who can play as WPG’s 2C. In his draft he was well known for his creativity, vision and playmaking. Could be the centre Laine needs to score 60 goals.

Tough call on the Dallas deal. Moving Hanzal's salary is positive. I believe they'd like to deal Honka to get a fresh start, and Comeau could be replaced by our young forward depth. However, we have several D that would take the same role as Kulikov, so whereas there'd be intrigue, I believe Dallas passes because it puts them in a weird spot.

Thought is Dallas will put Hanzal on LTIR for the season, and guess is Honka will be dealt for a draft pick. Believe the only reason we've not seen him dealt yet is teams are likely offering a 5th, and Nill probably wants more like a 3rd. As it gets closer, I could see Honka going for a 4th in the end. Best fits at this point are likely Anaheim, Detroit, maybe Vegas...

Read the Dallas fans’ comment. It makes quite a bit of sense. They dump comeau who has 2 years left and hanzal who is ltir. All for talking on one year of kulikov. Honka for a 5th is basically a separate trade

Not sure if Comeau is still an NHLer. He could be buried for about 1.3m a year for two years. But Hanzel means nothing as LTIR. Either Dallas or Calgary gets cap relief.

Ltir doesn’t help in the offseason and moving him would allow Dallas to make 1 or 2 more signings/trades this offseason and stay under the 10% over cap. Comeau is a cap dump. He would be a locker room presence and that’s it. I got him for that reason. He is serviceable as a 13th forward as well.

They also need to move honka as they would lose him to waivers if they sent him down
