i could speak for boston fans and Coyle isn't going anywhere. I can only see him getting dealt if it was far into the season and he was playing absolutely terrible but that's about it

For Gally a first + Kaut/Newhook would be good value but I dont think the habs are trading him smile

Yeah completely hypothetical, and thats a decent value. Maybe after years of playing against each other in TO and Montreal they could work well together as a line

Gally is the most hard working player on the Habs and he just made 2 30 goals season. Landeskog-Kadri-Gallagher could be an insane second line (and someone goes with Mack and Rantanen). Again wont happen but I would looking for a player like him if the Avs have a good start.

Kaut...

I don't think he's gonna be ready for another couple years. I don't think he'll make the jump this year for sure, hopefully he can develop for next season but if he's not ready in 2 seasons, but who knows what will happen with kadri at that time. I'd think if he's not playing with solid linemates he might opt for free agency

As a Caps fan, I can tell you Bura is MUCH better on the right side than the left side.

I think Gallagher would be the best option but there is no way I'm giving away 2 A level prospects and a 1st for 2 years of Gallagher..

Maybe a middle six player a prospect and 1st

It doesn't look like he transitioned his game over very well from any of his numbers in the ahl last year. I don't see him cracking the roster unless we run into some injuries early

looking at box scores and stat lines isnt how you judge a prospect...thats the biggest no no and you are dong yourself a huge disservice. When all the Avs prospect guys who cover this kind of stuff for a living arent even concerned about that in the slightest for a variety or reasons....him not being able to train fully last offseason bc of his heart issues so his cardio was lacking at the end of last season (hence why you saw a drop in production),

Its like Kovalenko, why is he as highly regarded as a prospect even though he had 6 points in the KHL last year? Bc you need to understand the context, the situations, the ice time per game, etc to actually rate a prosepct. Kaut did not disappoint last year, lets squash that false narrative right now. 2 things with Kaut that easily translate to the NHL...he has a sneaky good heavy shot and he is very very sound defensively

He had heart issues before that draft and i know thats why he fell to us, but if heart issues are still causing him to not play at full how can we bank on him to be a full time guy? The NHL will be more strenuous than the AHL, and if there's still issues i think it would be safe to find a guy for a couple seasons till he can prove he can go for a full season.
In the context of secondary scoring i think scoring stats do play into effect, if he is not scoring in the ahl, for whatever the reason is, you can't bet he will be scoring in the nhl level either. I think getting someone to plug into secondary scoring for a couple seasons is the way to go till he proves he is and can play a full season.

If it's a hypothetical list then you need to add Josh Anderson. Opposite ends of the spectrum to each other on size and what they would bring to the team, and both you'd have to overpay on, but either him or Gallagher. I certainly wouldn't split the top line either.

rakell, toffoli and johnson (going to another contender so more likely to waive his ntc) would be the best options

he couldnt fully train last offseason, his heart issues are behind him now, but it did impact his conditioning coming into last years season.
If you are already casting off Kaut to be a 2nd line RW at the NHL without understanding what he did in the AHL, and just making a wild assumption looking at his elite prospects stat line, thats just dangerous

I don't think i'm casting anyone off, and i think you have to be a pretty good player to just be a 2nd line rw. I don't see him knocking mack out of first line center duties so odds are the highest he will be is 2nd center or wing on a shutdown role. I don't know if heart issues are ever fully behind you, those are kind of a big deal.
Don't get me wrong i would like nothing more than for him to develop into an NHL star but i think the key is he has to develop into that. I don't think theres any problems with letting him be the go to guy in the ahl next year, let him grow his game and play a full season there to show he can then move him up.

Hes not a C......what world are we living on here.
His heart issue is behind him, google it, how many articles are out there that he got the procedure, corrected it and thats it.

Im very confused with your assessment here. I dont think you actually are fully aware of Kaut, his ability, and his projections

So we would be moving rants to second line then?

Daft as it sounds, can you imagine a third line of Calvert, Compher & Gallagher (and I know, having the luxury to play Gally on the third line is a dream!) Every other team would have some form of pest control waiting in the stadium with that line coming out at them. Those 3 grins would annoy the crap out of you!

Kaut is a 2nd line RW, Top 6 player....thats the whole point of your roster, filling the 2nd line RW, and my argument of you already have that internally waiting int he wings

Again what planet are we living on right now

First off it's earth, learn what gravity is and come back down to it.
Yes i think right now we need a top 6 player because even though he has surgery it doesn't automatically transform him into a top 6 winger. He needs to develop. we signed role players this year to play PK so he won't see any of that time and he won't be making pp1, he'd see limited minutes line pp2 if he made the team this year. Why shelter him to third line minutes this year when he would be the go to man in the AHL and be able to develop into the top 6 player that he can be.
