I'd still take the risk and buy low on him
Give him the chance to play with one of Crosby or Malkin throughout the year.
Bjugstad is replacable and fills a position of need for Edmonton.
Gagner is UFA next year and we can bury $1 mil of his salary in the minors.

that edmonton trade might be the worst trade for the penguins I have seen yet.
It's worse than Shultz for a 2nd by a country mile.

How exactly is it bad lol
Bjugstad isn't that good. He's a 3rd line forward @ 4.1 million.
Puljujarvi could be really good, just needs playing time and proper development

As a Penguins fan, you really overvaluate players lmao

I don't see why not.
Saves 4.1 mil in cap space and we get a good prospect. McCann plays centre as well
Hallander is at best a B/C prospect. He is not our best offensive prospect.

I have this awesome piece of beach front property available in Nevada. It's probably worth 50 million, I mean it's practically on the coast, but I'll sell it to you for just a few million, it's a great deal. When you consider the world is going to end in 10 years because of climate change, it's a real steal.

Bjustad is a great number 3 C, and if they pens win the cup again it will be depth at centre

Points-wise, Bjugstad and Gagner played at almost identical ppg paces last season.
Bjugstad had stints on the top-six with two generational players as well. Bjugstad's career high of 49pts came when he played on the top unit in Florida due to injuries.

We had the exact same depth at centre last season and got bounced in 4 games first round..

Gudbranson shined more in that series than Bjugstad.

Gudbranson shined more than Jake Guentzel too. So should he get traded too just because of 1 series? That EDM trade is horrendous. The pens aren't trading their 3c and one of their best prospects for a guy who couldnt even play with McDavud

Schultz is worth a 3rd at best. Stop lying.

Gagner played 43 games in the AHL last year LOL, Bjugstad could play in the top 6, on a good contract... youre a clown.

and playoffs are so unpredictable, doesnt mean u blow up the whole team after one bad yeaar

I have no idea why. He's not even that bad of a player. Could still put up 30-45 pts in a full season.
The guy is like 2 seasons removed from a 50 pts season

So who are we moving next year for the murray, galchenyuk, mccann extensions?
Surely with the loss of Schultz, I highly doubt GMJR moves Gudbranson or Johnson.
Florida basically cap dumped Bjusgtad for a 2nd, 4th, 4th, and Brassard...

Well Edmonton has a lot of guys fighting for roster spots. I see why he gets demoted. But it's not like he's purely useless.
He would put up 20-30 pts in a bottom-six spot on most teams.
Bjugstad will put up similar numbers just with an edge on his defensive game as Gagner is horrible defensively.
