I’m not a fan of either of these teams so take this with a grain of salt but idk if stl says yes without a 1st if they’re retaining salary

The idea of retained Schenn to the Flames was originally proposed by a blues fan a week ago. Kylington is probably worth a late 1st atm since hes young and can instantly jump into their 3rd pair, maybe 2nd. Frolik gives them better options on the PK then having ROR play them all. While still being a middle 6 LW/RW that produces consistently at .5ppg every year

It’s not too bad, but considering his current value and what we gave up to get him, I’d honestly probably keep him unless we’re getting something great in return. Sure these are decent pieces, but it’s unlikey any of them are in the Blues organization in 3 years. Frolik will likely walk, we’ll probably lose Kylington to Seattle, and the 2nd rounder is hit or miss.

I have to agree with @STLBlues17 about Kylington likely getting drafted by Seattle. This becomes especially true if the Blues re-sign Pietrangelo, because he, Parayko and Dunn will certainly be the three protected defensemen. The value isn't bad at all, but with retention, I'd bet the 2nd has to be a first or the potential 3rd rounder going to Calgary would have to be a no-go.

Ah the Seattle draft is a **** yeah. IMO they will probably take Perron due to his experience or STL would bribe them to choose a player. IMO a decent amount of better more experienced defensemen will be available.

If Flames are giving a 1st it would probably be a 2nd/3rd that turns into a 1st if resigned in which case it would have to be 2021. Would that work?

I’d do Frolik+Kylington+1st or something resembling Bennett+Pettersen. Anything less, and it’s not worth the downgrade in the middle of a contention window.

I think due to the value of Schenn plus the depth of the 2020 draft, Blues GM Armstrong declines for a 2021 1st. Who knows though? That's just my speculation. Schenn is pretty darn good.

No all day. Terrible trade for the Blues, in pretty much every way.
