I know. Its from James, but it still might be bull****. If this is true and he declined that offer, he should pack his **** because he is going.
I am at the point where I have just accepted that Mitch will be badly overpaid. I think ultimately it is just a matter of how badly he gets overpaid. I still hold steady in my old projections for his worth being ~8@8.75, maybe the only change being 6 years instead of 8 after the Aho deal. It is why I am all for a bridge deal as opposed to a 6 year contract as I am still not sure Marner is better than Nylander. Currently the difference is one hot season and one cold season where everything is screaming that both will majorly regress. Get a bridge, bet on a Nylander regression and renegotiate after having that comparable on the team. We can afford 3@9 for the next few years even if it is an over-payment, so it has to be the only real possibility moving forward.
Just want to put people's minds at ease here. As of today, at no point have the Maple Leafs offered Mitch Marner $10 million AAV on a 3 year deal. Whatever James may or may not have gotten, as far as information, has come from the Marner camp, not the Toronto side of things. Darren Ferris is a self-proclaimed master at spreading lies about his players, so even if James did receive this information from Marner's agent, I can tell you with 100% certainty, it is not true.

No offence but you have no evidence to prove what you just said
As much as he's technically going to be overpaid based on what we've seen other teams do, one thing is for sure IF you are going to overpay someone, make sure it's a 21 year old superstar.
I don't think the Leafs would get back true value if they trade him and if he's this good at 21. Imagine at 25....... 11M a year is too much I know but you won't be too sad when he's scoring 100 points a season as a Leaf for the first time since Gilmour and Sittler before him.
