Description
Does this trade intrigue any VGK fans?
Blues need a top-6 winger upgrade as well as a good LD prospect. Knights get a short-term upgrade in Schenn and won't have to pay Smith $5M to play on the 3rd line in the coming years. Edmundson will bring some grit to the 2nd/3rd pairing as well. Also shed some cap by including Reaves. Blais is a good prospect that couldn't find a good roster spot with the Blues' forward depth last year.

Nope. I get the idea of shedding Reilly and Reavo for cap space, but the stopping point is Hague. Their first four draft picks were Glass, Susuki, Brannstrom and Hague. Trading him would only further gut their prospect pool which they are going to have to rely on pretty soon.

McPhee did say that he wants to win it now, not saying that Schenn, Blais and Edmundson will change your team in a contender but I don't think that he's close to trading Hague if it gives him better chances at the cup.

Vegas passes. I wouldn't move Hague for 3 years of Schenn, let alone 1. They need Hague much more.

I think the team is already a contender with out this trade. This is still the same team that was a bad penalty and nightmarish pk away from the conference finals.

Hague is my favorite prospect in the system which made my veto swift. He's got good size and has looked good with Chicago. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a shot at the main roster this year. Gotta remember that GMGM was comfortable with trading Brannstrom because of how well Hague was progressing.
