Because Toronto doesn’t want five years that means nylander Matthews marner all up same time but leafs would match that if it happened

I'd say that deal is extremely beneficial for WPG. 50+ point 2C at $3,5M for $4M 30-point bottom-6 to mid-6 winger + 2nd rounder?

That sounds like a dream deal for WPG, and a terrible deal for NYI.

Marner is not going to sign on Long Island.

Nelson is way more valuable than Perrault, and he has a NTC.

This would be a great way to assure no player sign long term here as they would be traded within a year of signing their deals.

The islanders would never do that trade with Winnipeg. Nelson is a 2C on a decent contract and Perrault is an overpaid 3rd liner.

Marner isn't signing that OS? It'd need to be in the range of $13.5 million per over 5 years for him to sign it.
