Description

Let's just pretend for a moment that Melnyk isn't an insufferable, cheap-ass, douche bag and DERP! Dorion is somewhat competent. What would be a fair offer from Ottawa?

Keep in mind that this takes place NEXT year. I figure Quick would be a good stop-gap until Gustafsson is ready. Hogberg would be the back-up (and could carry some of the load should anything happen to JQ), and Nilsson could be dealt for a draft pick. Kovalchuk would be bought out, and the cap hit wouldn't affect us too much, since a lot of key guys are still on ELCs.

I'm not a kings fan but sure sounds fine. but why not have Nilsson as a backup instead of Hogberg?
