Oilers say no. Terrible trade. 1 year of Kreider doesn't come close to RNH. Move on Oilers.

I personally wouldn’t do the trade. The Oilers don’t need D prospects, they need good wingers and lots of them. To trade 2 years of RNH for 1 year of Kreider doesn’t make sense, I would rather have RNH over Kreider any day.

EDM gets a first line Winger plus you can never have enough Def Prospects especially for EDM tears of joy plus a 2nd round pick. Lets Say Kreider resigns 7x6 the same as RNH was getting paid.

I think if one of the two prospects you included were a F they would be more likely to do it (Howden looks like he will be decent 3rd line C) Lindgren wouldn't hold much value to Oilers atm we have 3-4 promising LHD prospect 2 of which are likely ready for NHL time

What are the incentives for the Oilers? Only a bunch maybe's. Maybe Kreider will resign, maybe the prospect will turn into something. This trade only has risks attached to it. RNH has said he wants to be in Edmonton, so I don't think they'll have a problem resigning him. Two years of RNH is better than 1 of Kreider...but in reality RNH is probably here for a long time.
