They cant do this.

At the deadline deal, cap space becomes prorated and I’m sure we could retain.

Yeah but you cant start the year by paying DeAngelo 3 million then do that trade at deadline. Way overcap.

If you reverse the Kreider Trade there 30,000 over the cap. Not insurmountable by any means. And as I said, retaining Kreider at say 50% will be more doable at the deadline because of prorated cap, even if they have to make another move or Dallas has to waive one of their overpaid guys like Oleksiak or Comeau...

Plus Dallas will have much more space then currently shown because Hanzal will without a doubt sit out this season and be put on LTIR...
