Created by: HabStraction
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 3, 2019
Published: Aug. 3, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Context : we absolutely need to try something before our stars (weber-price) decline and eat 20 % of our cap hit, and this is an option.
In 2019-2020 , This team would make the playoff but would not go far. It would be a Big year for Danault, playing with Marner. i see a KK and Poelhing improving a lot. KK also gets bigger and tougher !
2020-2021 : We are ready to contend !
one problem not solved yet : 1st pai LHD.
suggestions welcomed...

Non, mais j'echangerais Leblanc, Mccarron, Sherbak et Beaulieu contre Marner .

With Marner, those given picks won't be high picks. Our late pick look way more like the names i gave than yours.
Also, i would like to see Poelhing on a top line, but for now he is projected as a 3rd line players according to experts

I know it's a high cost but since Montreal never wants to do the tanking thing , how will we get top players. ?
Our top scorers always rank 50 or further in the league,

You forgot one very important thing about offer sheets: the player has to want to sign it.

Maybe that's the money and term he wants but is Montreal a team he would want to play for?
He's already turned down a few offer sheet ideas.

I think he wants to stay in Toronto and will have to settle for what the Leafs offer him.

Problem with offer-sheeting someone that high is that you're setting a precedent for the rest of your team.

Think of Domi next year and what his demands will be.

Not just that. You set the precedent for the rest of the league and perhaps GM's shouldn't care about that but what GM will want to deal with that?

And yeah biggest thing is how an offer sheet affects future years of a team.
