I'd rather have Bonino over Boedker and Pageau.

I think Detroit would decline. Detroit has 3 defensemen (4 if Kronwall decides to play 1 more season) all over 30 with contracts that expire at the end of the season. Ericsson and Kronwall (if he comes back) will most likely retire. What ever Daley and Green do I doubt they will be signed and Green could be moved at the TDL. While we do have some D prospects that are almost ready. If Detroit makes this trade that would leave Nemeth and Bowey as Detroit's veterans and I find that pretty scary.

Watson and Hamhuis are in the final of their contracts and incase you haven't noticed Detroit isn't really a hot spot for UFA's. So both of them most likely leave at the end of the season. While DeKeyser has 2 yrs left on his contract. So from Detroit's point of view they aren't very valuable. This offer is kind of backwards it's usually the team buying getting the short contract and the team selling .that gets longer contract.

Do you need a big stay at home defenseman? Most people would ask for Green at the TDL.

Bonino and a 4th for Pageau. No more, no less.

Danny DeKeyser is a Detroit kid, Doubt he'd waive his full NTC for Nashville right now. Detroit isn't retaining half on DeKeyser for two pending UFA's not going to happen Yzerman isn't stupid. Detroit easily declines your offer. And DeKeyser says no as well.

Watson and Hamuis are not of immediate value to Detroit, rather they can flip them for additional picks to other contenders. Nashville needs the salary gone to complete a DDK trade even at 50% retained.

You title All-in Trade Deadline implies this will happen at the TDL. Now you can make trades after the deadline but they don't take effect until the start of the following of the next season. Since Watson and Hamuis most likely go to other teams at the end of the season. No one is going to trade for them when they are UFA's in a couple of months. So that makes flipping them impossible there isn't a GM the world that would trade for them. Hamuis could retire at the end of the season. either way no help to Detroit. You're right they are not of immediate to Detroit they are of no value to Detroit.

Trade deadline is usually referring to the day of, not the actual deadline itself
