The Caps just gave away Matt Niskanen for cap space. They're fine, for this year. Make an offer on right shot Travis Boyd, though? He's from Minnesota, and got 60 points in the AHL a couple years ago, before winning this thing called the "Stanley Cup." Got 20 NHL points last year, for a career high, and turned 26 so he'd probably cost a 4th round pick. Give him some more ice time and he's a decent two way player, with a lot of skill, who can play any forward position.

Oshie is 32 with six years left. That doesn’t improve Minnesota’s situation.
Goal totals, last six years:
Oshie: 21, 19, 26, 33, 18, 25
Zuccarello: 19, 15, 26, 15, 16, 12
Zuccarello is one year younger, at 31, and signed for one year less, at a cap hit that's $750,000 higher, per year. Each has broken 60 points once. So compared to signing a UFA right now, Oshie's contract is an insanely great value on a guy who usually scores 20 goals a season. The Wild couldn't even sign a guy who gets 16 for that price.
