Everytime ide see stamkos on the ice he would be a winger, idk if that was just for powerplays and point centered? but Literally every time i saw stamkos play he was never playing center.

If you think he's underrated, you think he's a top 5 player. Basically everyone says he's a top 6-7 centre in the NHL. He made it to #9 on my list of my top 10 players and everyone knows he's that good. So, why do so many people say he's underrated?
Looking at pure volume stats, no corsi, no extreme analytics. tavares took roughly 500 more faceoffs and majority of his production came at 5v5 where as Stamkos took sub 1k faceoffs last year, and roughly half (its more like 60/40) of his production came on PP. Not to mention Stamkos playing with the 2nd best player in the NHL in kucherov. and another rotating player whether thats point, palat, or johnson. One of the best lines in all of hockey. Let me rephrase it. Without kucherov do you still think Stamkos is as dominant as he was last year again. Without marner do you think Tavares has as good of a year as he did last year again. I just think tavares is a true center, stamkos is better suited as a winger.

I would say he is no longer underrated. Mission accomplished.

Stamkos doesn't play with Kuch on the same line anymore.

Finally, someone who knows what underrated means. If someone wants to say he's underrated, they can, but when saying that they should mean they think he's at Crosby/MacKinnon level or whatever.

Barkov's problem is that he plays for Florida. He doesnt get talked about nearly as much as other elite centres because that would mean people have to talk about Florida. Playing for a lower market team you have to be way better to get noticed than if you play for a big market team.

He does get talked about as one of the best centres in the league.
