What the Draisaitl out trade looks like from MTL

Description
This is a trade I saw proposed by an Oilers fan. Thought I would look at it from the Montreal perspective. Now I doubt that Draisaitl is even on the trade market. This would be a trade that I think Montreal would consider. It does give us a number one centerman that we have seemingly been searching for, for years now. Losing Domi and KK seems like a reasonable cost. I would think that Edmonton may want a better d going back for Bear but I left the trade as I saw it to see what it would look like from the Montreal side of things.

Adding Bear really doesn't move the needle for Montreal IMO, we already have a very nice RD sable. So saying that I would package Bear and move him to WPG for a right shot winger. Roslovic would be a nice fir along side Poehling IMO. It has also been reported that we wants out of the PEG.

These would be interesting moves from the Montreal perspective although I doubt that Edmonton would consider moving Draisaitl.

Draisital isn't minty enough to counterweight the loss of that trade. :'(

decent trade with Montreal. Montreal might like have the two nhlers in koti and domi compared to just one draisaitl.

If you had read the team description you would notice that I did not come up with this trade. It was posted earlier today by an Oilers fan. I was simply looking at it from the Habs perspective.

Personnally, i'd remove Bear, Folin the 3rd and the 2nd and have KK+Domi for Drai. And people should not look at point addition like "KK will make 60pts and Domi 70pts, but Draisaitl will not make 130pts (the sum of the two other)". Having an elite player should be in MTL plan instead of having many good players.

I don't think MTL should add a NHLready forward in Roslovic. I think if this Draisaitl trade is done, Suzuki will crack the roster as a RW. It's only a question of time.

I wouldn't do it.

This trade is selling high on Draisaitl while selling low on KK (who had a better rookie season than Drai by the way).

Don't get me wrong, Draisaitl is a very good player but I just don't think the difference between him and Domi is worth KK. I just don't believe that Draisaitl is a 100 point player in MTL without McDavid.

I don't disagree LumberJacques. I was simply going through the exercise to see what the trade would look like from the MTL perspective. I still think the trade is interesting but your point on KK being sold low and Draisaitl being sold high is a legitimate point. Overall as I stated above I don't think that any of these players are actually in play for a trade. Patience is always difficult but I think that KK has a very high ceiling and trading him now is probably not wise.
