Description
I suspect haters will hate, but constructive feedback is always welcome.....

For Tkachuk, using Aho as a baseline..... given the intangibles he brings, I hope I am close.

Starting Ryan on the wing so Dube can cut his teeth. Would suggest he is in the top 6 by the Allstar break..... or I hope. If not go with Bennett - who has the ability to raise is game to anither level.

Keeping Brodie and Hamonic - simply because this team could go deep, if not all the way in a wide open West. Rotate the kids in the bottom pair and see who rises tonthe occassion.

Signed Sheahan simply for forward depth purposes. Let the kids develop rather than sit in the press box.

CGY
  1. Laczynski, Tanner [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Conditional pick id Frolik resigns.
PHI
  1. Frolík, Michael
Additional Details:
Flames still need to move money, and Frolik as much as it pains, is the real option. Expiring contract, spunky and can produce a 40 point year.

Given everything the Flyers have done, I suggest they are committed to getting into the playoffs - and Frolik is a big upgrade on both Pitlick and Raffl in the bottom six. And they have the cap space to boot. I further suggest Frolik fits the traditional Flyers character of grit and some skill.

The Flames take n a longer term prospect, who imo, looks to round out at least as a very servicable top 9 forward with top 6 potential. It's a project - and far to early to tell where Laczynski falls in the spectrum.

Flames are up against it still..... GMs know it.

Could be. Given his far more physical nature, wasn't sure which direction to take.

I would disagree... Tkachuk has almost the same numbers while playing a more physical game, drawing more penalties and all this while playing with Backs and Frolik. Both are excellent 2 way forwards but neither are offensive juggernauts! Wonder what Chucky would do if partnered with Mony and Lindholm?

In there lies the debate right? I see Tkachuk as the most rounded player in this RFA class. Yet, because he isn't Marner or Rattenen or Laine, he is worth less? This I do not get.

I like this trade, best Frolik one I have seen I a while. I am sure he gets moved but teams know the Flames are up against the cap so sure they are using that to low ball. Trading for a prospect RW at 22 yrs old doing well I college with maybe a mid round d 3 or 4th pick dependent on Fro resigning I think is very reasonable.
I just can't imagine the flames going over 9mill for Chucky though; although if they go shorter term they are going to have to pay way over 9 in a few years after a bridge.
It is getting stressful waiting to see what they end up doing to fit Chuck and Mangi signed up.I still have a feeling Brodie goes to Montreal, waiting for that one! Cheers

Is this not very close to the Aho deal? 2 extra years for 1m more. Personally I think if they were going to give him 9.5m it would be an 8 year term.

I didn't see term. I think 9.5x8 would be more than fair from both sides
