I do agree that Johnson is terrible but if you're going to say we should get rid of him for nothing you should at least give some suggestion as to who we should replace him with

Cardboard brooks Orpik should do just fine

(Serious note, we already have the replacement with Pettersson/Riikola)

IDK dude I still don't think Riikola's ready for top 6 yet. Plus if you get rid of Johnson that takes Johnson's physical play out of the lineup (it's about the only thing he's good at but it's still important in today's NHL). Ideally you'd want somebody with a physical presence that can actually play defense to replace him and have Riikola as the 7th defender in case someone gets hurt

I mean I don’t think Riikola is ready either but he’s an objectively better player at an objectively better price.

JJ’s physicality is nice and all but Guddy is way better at that, and adding him at the deadline made JJ obsolete. Plus we’ve added Bjugstad and Tanev at forward. I don’t think we need to worry bout physicality at all

If that ain’t good enough, cardboard brooks Orpik prolly hits harder than JJ
