Leafs aren't interested in the 4 quarters for a dollar type trade. They want a high end young defenseman. Savard is fine not a high end defenseman. And he isn't young anymore

Trading spare pieces to get something of value only works on here if it's the Leafs doing it.

He's a 26 year old D with 44 games of NHL experience averaging under 14 minutes per game. That is not a particularly valuable player

Yes from the outside eye id agree, but he also had a huge year and playoffs and proved he can play top 4 minutes without a problem

He played 15:10 per game in the playoffs. That isn't top 4.

Savard 23 minutes
Werenski 26 minutes
Jones 28 minutes.

Then Kukan and Harrington had 15 and 13 minutes. That strongly speaks to a team that in fact does not trust their third pairing.
