Martinez is actually a lefty, but typically does play the right side I believe. But I would assume he wouldn't have a big problem switching to what should be his natural side.

oh ok didn't know that, ive always seen him play the right so I assumed hes a righty but I mean he did score the most important goal ever for LA and hes got playoff experience so hed be a great target

Edmundson is very gettable. Think a prospect+3rd rounder

I think dealing Edmundson to NJ is a pretty good fit.

Yup, Marty is a lefty. The goal you're referring to was a rush up the left side, where he broke the puck out of the defensive zone on the left side. In addition, his goal against Chicago in Game 7 the series before that was a point shot from the left side. He'd be a great get for the Devils, but my guess is the Kings aren't willing to deal him until the trade deadline, if at all. They have almost no experience on the left side of the defense, which is where he'll likely be playing this year due to finally having an equal number of righty's/lefty's. So they'll need him to be a stop-gap for the year. If they do look to trade him, I'd imagine a 2nd and a B+ prospect would do the trick.

I would take Edmundson over Brodie and I think the trade would work. Would just need to move Sami which I think needs to, and will happen

Eddy just got $3.1M in Arb today. That's too much IMO.
I suggest Brodie as they are not happy with his POs and the exit they had. Allows us to consider for next yr and Make a play for Nurse, yeah I know Edm not happenin.

I think Smith will and should play this year 100%. If you want to consider his development.. he HAS to take the next step and play in the NHL this year. The only way I see that happening, along with getting a top 2 LHD is shipping Vatanen out. Attaching Mcleod with Vatanen and a pick or even 2nd/3rd tier prospect could get us LHD we maybe have not even considered to be on the market.

Does Kempny or Djoos help? Your list isn't very focused. Kempny's done fine on a top pair and even got a couple points, finally. Djoos has more potential, long term.
