No chance MTL does that... Tolvanen is far away from being the prospect he once was and you probably Don't who Danault is to say something like that

tatar has to go and danault being moved makes room for the kids tatar isn't going to be a hab when we contend sell him now when his value is the highest tolvanen may have dipped in value but he is still great plus tolvanen-kk-caufield

I think that could work for both team! Nashville is in win now mode and really could use scoring on the wing i don’t see them taking danault because they dont need centerman but replace him with armia or lekhonen

Giving up one of the better prospects in the league (even though i agree hes very overhyped) a 1st and a really solid 3C for two good middle six wingers doesnt seem very worth it from Nashvilles POV. If Nashville trades their 1st and Tolvanen theyre gonna trade it for a top of the line talent

Tatar is a legit top6 winger, Danault is a Bergeron 2.0 without the offense of Bergeron. The kid was 7th for the Selke & will just go up every year. Danault is a good 2C excellent defensively. 2B Center

Making MTL threads is difficult because (most) MTL fans only accept overpayments and not reality. I think this trade is fair in many ways. You'd have to retain on Bonino though and the 1st should be in 2021, otherwise MTL is getting a steal here. This next draft is a deep one.

Not calling out MTL fans as a whole as being a negative group, but look into the trade more before you immediately say "MTL says no".

I dont think that MTL fans are better/worse than any other fan base, the only think is that their is more "fans" and when their is more "fans" their is more "morons". But the % of "morons" is about the same (maybe a bit more smile). Also a lot of MTL fans speek french so just writting "MTL says no" is more simple hehe ! For the trade I dont see Danault and tatar in the the same deal. Also Nashville already have Duchenne/Johansson/Turris so they probably dont need Danault. But they could use Tatar + retain salary to help their top 6. Maybe Tatar (salary retain) for Bonino (cap dump at this point) and either 1st 2020 or Tolvanen could be fair.

This is a horrible trade for Montreal. Danulat got Selke votes last year and is just entering his prime, Tatar showed once again that he is a 50+ point winger who is still a modest cap hit. While Tolvanen has dropped of as a prospect since he didnt exactly impress in the AHL last year, and the 1st would likely be in the 25+ range. Tatar alone would get that 1st round pick plus a prospect, let alone throwing in a top 6 center. Think of it this way Danault had better stats then Hayes, who he is younger than and Hayes has been traded for a 1st as a rental.

So ya, this is bad for MTL

IMO Tolvanen’s ceiling is Tatar (not in playing style, just role). Bonino is a cap dump, and a 1st isn’t worth Danault+.

A hometown excellent 2 way center paid at a discount.

He isn't going anywhere.

When you want to get rid of a 26 yo to "make room for the kids" lol...

IMO in the actual line up, Danault, Kotkaniemi and Gallager are off the market 100% plain and simple. Add Price and Weber because of their contract.

Call it the core, the heart, the foundation, etc.. Not gonna happen.

Have fun improving the team with the other pieces.

Tolvanens ceiling could potentially be a top line player but most likely a 2nd line 60 point scorer tatars role on mtl if he stays for when they contend which he won't tatar is likely on the 3rd line behind domi and drouin they should sell tatar when his value is highest ikik tolvanen had a bad year but last year he was one of the best prospects in the game i wouldn't give up on him for one bad year

name a contending team that danault is a 2C he is a brilliant 3c on a good team tatar is not a legit top6 winger he has one great year if he has another than i change my mind but this could easily have been a lucky season that he wont do again but even still

A prospect with 4 games played on record.

A late first rounder has less than 50% to become an NHL player. Not even a good one, just to actually make it.

Choosing the established 26yo selke top 10 nominee is a nobrainer...

Danault will eventually become 3C anyway. Right now he plays 1C, but in a couple years (2 or 3 max), KK and Poehling will pass him and it'll be something like Poehling - KK - Danault as center
