Moving Sorensen is dumb. Sorry but he's an extremely effective top 9 winger on a fantastic contract.

Now I'm not going to say I know a ton about what PIT is getting back, but why Pettersson... He's the only guy on our blueline that is under like 28 and has the ceiling to be more than a bottom pairing guy, and we certainly don't have any elite prospects coming up...

Pens really like Pettersson so doubtful they trade his rights but I think the value is fair.

Moving Sorenson or Melker is ideal to start the season as we have alot of bottom 6 forwards as is

Sorensen kills penalties, fights, scores, skates well and plays in all three zones. Melker had a down year but will bounce back. MK68 is an excellent PK'er and checker. both are well worth holding onto.

This narrative that Melker is a good PKer needs to die. The team gives up 70% more shots on the PK when he is on the ice, then when he is not. He’s out of position frequently and he can’t recover because his foot speed/quickness is gone.

Because his foot speed is gone, so is his checking ability. He hits a lot yes, but the puck is usually long gone by the time he gets there, meaning he didnt do anything to effect the ply but take himself out of it.

He didn’t have a down year, his point total has been trending negative for the last 4 seasons as have his on ice impact. Trade him as soon as you can or bury his salary.

@Frank_Booth And was a healthy scratch in the Blues series. Deboer doesn't trust him (started nearly 60% of his shifts in the OZ), he's soft on the boards, and is going to be going into his age-27 season. Trade him now while other teams are still high (somehow...) on him so that we don't have to be hanging onto his 1.5M when he undoubtedly regresses.
