Trades
1.
CAR
  1. Ceci, Cody
  2. 2020 4th round pick (VGK)
  3. 2020 6th round pick (CAR)
  4. 2021 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Toronto need RD men, this is the worst kept secret in the league, extending Faulk will be difficult with Dermott Barrie Muzzin Schmaltz Harpur and Ceci all on expiring deals, but if Carolina take ceci back for the cap reasons, effectively as a cap dump, and flip him to someone for something retained, it may just be better for both teams

2nd round pick becomes a 2022 1st if Faulk resigns, if they miss the playoffs and the pick is top 10, it becomes a 2023 unprotected 1st rounder.
TOR
  1. Faulk, Justin
Additional Details:
Faulk's NTC makes this a little more difficult than it may appear, the return has to be optimal and it has to be a team he'd allow a trade to.
2.
CAR
  1. 2020 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
These guys love a bad contract
PIT
  1. Ceci, Cody ($2,250,000 retained)
3.
CAR
  1. 2020 6th round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
A trade here will depend on Francouz, he's from the KHL and his abiity to transition will tell you if a trade is needed or not. Reimer is still a good backup, overpaid yes. Colorado have cap space to burn, so if it helps retain 50% of his contract in Carolina, retain a further 50% in Colorado (this can be done as of the Derick Brassard trade from Florida to Colorado, ontop of the retention done by Vegas). 25% of Reimers deal is SO movable,

It's a conditional 2nd, on him resigning. If he resigns its a first, it's just the issue of the contract in Toronto's situation

I like this. If we are trading a Dman I would want it to be Faulk. Hopefully keep Dougie around for awhile. I like the idea of just getting picks or prospect back for Faulk!

Yup! Great job. And I believe that Faulk is much bigger upgrade over Ceci. Even defensively!

Faulk is underrated defensively, but Ceci is a pylon on skates....

Think Carolina would like to build on last season's seasons success and not trade a Dman like Faulk. Being a upcoming UFA, doesn't really matter, playoff teams generally don't trade good players for futures. Reimer, teams would be looking for cheaper backups who are just as good.

Again, no need. Carolina have dumb blueline depth. Faulk is expendable. Trade him for assets like St Louis do, gather what you can. Move Pesce over to RD and bring up bean. There's still a log jam back there
