No you can't. You need to wait at least one year. Also, PIT doesn't have a second buyout window. Most importantly, if you sign Erik Gudbranson, it already tells us you don't wanna win

What's wrong with Gudbranson? I thought he played good with Petterson last year after we got him

Aston-Reese filed for arbitration. Their second buyout window is open, but being a team that has never used a buyout/compliance buyout it is highly unlikely they use it.

And it wouldn't make sense to buyout Gudbranson for 1.25mil cap relief this year and then lose an additional .25mil in cap next year (total cap hit for buyout and contract would be 4.25mil)

You need two arbitration cases

Arbitration was player elected, so they only needed one. But it has been a multiple days since it was resolved. So the window is now closed (most likely)

Yes you can sign a guy you bought out. However the buyout period is long gone for PIT.

"For one season following a compliance buyout, players were not permitted to rejoin the team which performed the buyout (this restriction does not exist for normal buyouts)."

Yes you can.... Indirectly. wink

If you trade the player to a team that buys him out immediately, you can then resign him right away because you are not the team registering the buyout. Of course this gentleman agreement include compensation for the team doing the buyout.

Ok but it's not your team that bought him out

Orpik was sent from WSH to COL to be bought out by COL, not WSH.

You didn't even understand lol

I think you are so zealous to tell me Im wrong that you didn't tried to understand my explanation.

We are saying the same thing. The buyout was made by the second team. But the result, Orpik bought out and resigned on a lesser contrat by his original team, is the same. Hence the use of the word "indirectly".

Indeed, it's indirectly. But if someone asks " Can you buyout a player and then re-sign him for less? ", you answer directly

Unless you answered indirectly to everyone in your life tears of joy
