especially to a divisional rival and DET got Hronek & Seider for the future (it's not like they wanna contend now)

As a Detroit fan I agree. I can't see Yzerman bring in Ristolainen and it has nothing to do with value. Risto can score but he is a lability defensively and Yzerman likes defenseman that are solid defensively and will give up backend scoring for sound defensive play. It goes back to when he played for Bowman. Yzerman had 6 straight seasons of triple digit points and 4 50 g seasons. When Bowman him down and told him if he wants a cup the high point totals and its defense first. He never put points like before but he did win 2 cups.

Detroit doesn't want or need Ristolainen, And you're surely not getting Mantha for him. Maybe AA depending on what he's asking for next season. But Mantha is off limits.

Sabres are talking on his terrible contract, which is a plus for Detroit. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand
