Would you be sold on the goaltending here? I'm not.

There is promise absolutely, but the Jackets are still a team that can pick off a wild card spot withba tender. Enter Anderson......

1. In case you missed it, the Sens are rebuilding. I doubt a 39 year old fits that plan.

2. Anderson is on an expiring deal

3. Melnyk is cheap, so moving Anderson can save him an additional $2.5 million after retention

4. Anderson is most effective as a split time guy, meaning Korpi and Elvis can battle it out for not onlybthe back up roll, but the heir apparent

5. Ya gotta think Anderson jumps at the chance to get out of Ottawa.

Don't see Anderson on the market being worth much more than a mid level prospect. Debated the 6th.
OTT
  1. Fortier, Maxime
  2. 2021 6th round pick (CBJ)
2.
CBJ
  1. Carpenter, Ryan
  2. 2020 4th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Moving that Dubinsky contract needs to happen. Hawks have the cap space, and seem committed returning to the playoffs.....

I get the debate as to whether Duninsky can still be a productive NHL player, but I have to believe the Hawks just maybe willing to run a risk with Milano being the sweetner..... he is still a pretty damn good prospect, but just flat out passed on the depth chart in Columbus imo.

Carpenter is a one year plug, while a 4th rounder seems reasonable.
CHI
  1. Dubinsky, Brandon ($2,500,000 retained)
  2. Milano, Sonny

Columbus wouldn’t retain that much on Dubinsky. At that point it would be cheaper to buyout Dubinsky when his buyout is at 1.9 mil over resining for 2.5. Then we move Milano and Korpisalo who would require waivers to someone like Edmonton who needs a goalie and some skill on the wings.

Looked at the buyout option as well. Retaining salary is a two year hit, the buy out is 4...... debated which would be more beneficial long term. Opted for the deal to clear that cap space sooner than later.
