Both trades are heavily favoring NY. A bunch of meh guys for an elite talent like Laine. Leddy is also not worth a 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

As an islanders fan... of course the trades favor NY. The Leddy trade I know is a stretch. What is the value for a guy like Leddy? I didn’t really want to trade him... just needed cap space.
The Laine trade I suggested a capable defence pairing at reasonable cap cost for Winnipeg for the next three years. Beauvillier is a good scoring winger. Would fit a third line role now with potential to become a top six in the future. Bellows and a 2nd. I guess that could be improved. I am open to suggestions.

It looks like the Isles get back more from Leddy then they trade away for Laine

To get Laine it's probably closer to Wahlstrom, Mayfield, Beauvillier( or similar player to fill into WPG top 9) plus a 1st.

Winnipeg would definitely ask for Dobson/Pulock in any deal.

The Leddy trade isn't too much, but if the Isles wait 'til the TDL, I could see Leddy fetching a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd. I've seen similarly valued players go for exactly that at the TDL.

Beauviller+Bellows+Hickey+Mayfield+2nd >>> A 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Though I'd expect LA to add Top 10 protections to that 1st rounder. Though I'll say that the only way Winnipeg accepts that return for Laine was if the Jets were really over a barrel in negotiations. And I wouldn't really say that they are.

Not even ask... demand it. If the deal doesn’t begin with one of them. The phone should be hung up.

I think Leddy gets either a late 1st or a 2nd and a 3rd.

The only way WPG trades Laine is if they get another star in return. They won't settle for players who will be there short-term and have 3rd line or #4 Dmen ceilings. It would take a name like Dobson/Pulock to get a deal done imo
