I think Carlo could be bridged for cheaper. McCavoy is the far superior player and has the numbers to get a solid bridge number. Carlo will get his pay day eventually but he'll have to wait for it longer than McCavoy will IMO.

yeah possible the numbers skew higher for McAvoy and lower for Carlo. I think bridge is most likely for both, with the off chance they can get Carlo to sign for 4-6 years a low number. For McAvoy I feel like its best to get a good number for 2-3 years, try to win with this core and then be in line for a 8 year big pay day when hes 25 and the TV deal comes through.

Carlo for 2 or 3 years seems perfect

Oh yeah not talking about the years. I meant just the cap hit could be lower potentially.

Yeah if you have 1.6M in space I'd rather just try to go 6 or 7x4 with Carlo

Ah yes the big tv deal. That's another story. laugh

Yeah thest case scenario is getting McCavoy to accept a moderate bridge for 2-3 years. I think most were hoping to get Carlo locked up long term but I think he may have enough grounds to get approx 4M if it were long term so might as well just bridge him to. i just feel even at 3.2M on a bridge may be too high. If it's a 2 year bridge, I say he could be signed for approx 2.5M a year. Every year after that added to that offer will increase his cap hit by approx .25M, up to 4M x 6 years. Just my opinion though.

That bottom 6 is highly unlikely, and McAvoy and Carlo would get much less on 3 year deals. So no this is far from the most likely scenario.

you just made it seem like you thought he would get more on a bridge

No, no, well maybe slightly more but nothing to bang heads about. My point was more that McCavoy can't be bridged at 2-3M a year for example. He's earned a decently high bridge contract. Carlo not as much. I've seen some people on here think that Carlo will get just a little less than McCavoy on a long term contract. Yeah I don't think so.

Group 1 RFA is exactly the reason he would get bridged at 2mil.

I’m with you there. I think their value for 8 years is 9, and about 4.75. I think their bridge values are nearly identical though

Really? You think McCavoy couldn't argue a higher bridge AAV than Carlo could? I certainly think he could. Ryan Murray got 2.85M over 2 years a couple years ago and I think McCavoy has proven way more than he did by that time. Carlo is much more the player that kind of has to accept what he gets on abridge deal IMO.

Group 1

Man, I hear you badger this around too much. Group 1 doesn't mean he can't negotiate at all.... Ok so he can't get an offer sheet. He is still the Bruins overall best dman and premier player. He has some leverage to increase his income.

If group 1 meant what you think it does, he should have just signed the deal already......... Whats the point in waiting for anything? 1.5M x 2 years.

"Hey that's too little! Sorry, your group 1 so now bend over and take it all......"

The bruins want to get long term or at least a long bridge. I think if anything he wants the cheap one year deal
