Arbitration could have awarded him a two year deal. And based on how much he played in Ottawa he very likely would have got 4.5 or more. So Dubas was actually proactive by just signing him

Also his QO was 4.3 so not sure if you understand what you’re saying but that’s okay you just need an Athletic subscription
