Kings would want a 2nd round pick and an expansion-draft exempt B+ prospect.

Two 2nds. Or a high end but not blue chip prospect and a later pick. Or a very heavily protected first (ie he is probably worth 2 picks in the 40s-50s or one pick in the early 30s/late 20s).

If its to a cap strapped team they would be stupid to NOT eat half his salary to increase the return.

For example your cap is kind of tight, perhaps they eat half his salary and then ask for Dube and a 3rd (I don't know Dube that well, but he is over PPG in the A, so I assume a fairly good prospect). Or maybe they ask for your first and only let you lottery protect it to top 10, but again get him for 2.3 mil

If it's at 50% retention, I would expect to see a quality prospect plus a 2nd that becomes a 1st if Toffoli re-signs with the club he is traded to. If it does become a 1st, that team can choose whether it is in the 2020 or 2021 draft.

I try not to get to into the nitty gritty, because you never know the details it will be and try to just think more broadly in "value". ie I like to think in draft pick value. You know like a #1 pick, vs a top 5 pick vs a mid first, vs a late 1st, vs a 2nd, vs a 3rd etc. Then just try to think, this guy is worth like 2 seconds, or a 3rd and a 5th or whatever.

While I see your point, there is no way to really know the fine nitty/gritty of how they'll use their value with conditions and stuff.

Feels like Kylington and a second or maybe Dube and a third. Or maybe even Dube plus a second for Toffoli plus a third.

Would Josh Nodler, Ilya Nikolayev or Lucas Feuk fit that

Yeah, I don't want to give up Kyl or Dube for Toffoli. I was thinking 2nds and B prospects. Looking at some of my threads with Kreider a 1st+2nd+Gawdin seemed fair to most people so I would rather do that to get a better player than this deal

I didn't see any B prospects that appealed to me. I think that the closest we could come to a real trade is Dube even up for Toffoli, but Dube has some pretty good future upside.
