LA def retains on that deal like 40%
Edmonton trade is horrible for CGY, just keep him until like the deadline or something (especially if brodie extends as part of the deal)

So I always loved Kylington predraft, I thought he was going to be a mid to late first. But how has he looked since? I haven't really heard about him, being out of Calgary's market.

Depending on his value, that could either be too little, or if he is fairly valuable too much and (as @Ledge_And_Dairy says above) LA should retain.

I have a question for you to ponder though. Do you think Toffoli is actually significantly better than Frolik? And if so, is he worth the difference between Kylington and a 3rd/2nd conditionally and a 3rd/6th. Because that seems like a fairly large difference in value.

Also I really hope Tkachuk signs for a contract like the above one (which I think is fair) and does it soon, so Marner can have more evidence against his extremely high wants.

It's interesting for sure. Kylington looked decent last year. He's been in the shadow of valimaki and anderson as they took huge steps last season. I think he can definitely be a solid NHL player though. Toffoli and frolik have put up similar numbers but I like his style of play better and is 4 years younger. Frolik, IMO is only going to get worse. He's a huge part of our PK but i think that can be replaced...

Kylington is logjammed for us, hes not as good as Valimaki but he has top 4 potential easily, he would probably make LA's current top 4. As for Fro vs Toffoli, I think they play similar roles but Toff has a better shot and is a natural RW

Yeah i dont know, I really have no idea what puljujärvi is worth. It's all based off potential but I could see him still being a breakout player. Some players just take longer to develop and he obviously isn't liking his situation in EDM. What do they ask for in return and what do they actually get? There's no way CGY resigns brodie so you're right he probably gets moved at the deadline but why not take a risk on a player who could be a superstar and grew up a flames fan!?maybe add a pick to that deal?

He's a really good player stuck behind Vali and Ras but I hope the Flames hold onto him. I think he can be a great top 4 d-man and a Hanifin, Ras, Vali, Kyl top 4 would be formidable for years to come

Frolik played little to no PK time last year, don't get me wrong hes very good at it but was replaced by Lindholm and Ryan there

EDM would do Poolparty 1 for 1 with Jankowski i think they still kinda win that, Pool refuses to play for them and has demanded a trade his value is tanked even more from that

If im calgary i do that trade solely based off the depth at center and lack there off at RW. Risky, yes but could pay off HUGE
