Yeah Slavin is good but Debrincat scored 40 goals his sophmore year. IMO Debrincat is more valuable. Strome and pick/beaudin for slavin and mid range pick/prospect seems more fair.

All of that is fan talk. He's a great player but he's still not in the discussion as the best of the best. He's not criminally underrated either. For two seasons he's been seen as a undisputed #1 defenceman and a terrific 2 way player. Cane fans have a tendancy to call all of their defenceman top 20 players and call them underrated. They are a great bunch of players but only Slavin is a future Norris contender, possibly.

Carolina won't have much appetite to move him, and if they did, it would be for a lot less than you think it'll be. He'll bring back a top line player for sure but that's it.

Slavin is being called a top 10 D man by fans of other teans, statistically he was the best DFD in the league. None of what I said is opinion, it's fact. Slavin is criminally underrated because people have only started to see him for what he is, and that was a down year for him, if he's at his best and he's getting the same kind of attention, he'll be a Norris candidate, he had votes last year. He's that good

Slavin was eliminated in 4 games in round 3 and was 3 points behind Pietrangelo, who set the record for points in the playoffs by a D man, Slavin is a top 10 D man, and almost anyone with an above average shot had 40 goals last year, Cal CLutterbuck had 20 ffs, I would need to see him do it again before I'd give him the edge in value. Slavin does his thing, and he's been doing it forever. Slavin is on a STEAL of a contract that lasts until the end of time....

DFD, he's the best DFD in the league, and he was that last year. In the playoffs he was 3 points behind Pietrangelo who broke a record and played like 10 less games.... Slavin is criminally underrated and he is a top 10 D man, he was eligible for a save percentage last year, he pulled 50 pucks off the goal line or something throughout the course of the year, it seemed every game he was preventing a sure goal. He is so underrated

So if "anyone" with an above average shot can get 40 goals then how come Aho only had 30? And how come Teuvo and Svech only had 20? Guess they must have below average shots. 40 goals is no joke and downplaying it by saying someone else got half that one time is just downright buffoonery. I never said I didnt believe him to be a top 10 rhd. He is that good, but Debrincat one of the top wingers.

No, but GA vs X_GA is and his x_GA was far lower. He's elite defensively, he and Pesce also have given up the fewest shots and chances of any pairing in the NHL over the past 4 years.

Slavin is a LHD, not a RHD. But you need to look closer at this, Aho and Teuvo aren't "goal scorers" and Svechnikov is a rookie. Anderson in Columbus had 40 goals, does this suddenly make him more valuable than Slavin too? No, 1 year means nothing, especially on a line with Kane and Schmaltz/Strome

No theyre not, but using your argument they have below average shots? You mean Atkinson? He's always had about 25-30 goals on an offense starved blue jackets team and when he finally got some good forwards (PLD, Panarin, and Duchene for a short while) since 2016 he had a 35 goal season, 24 goal season (in 65 games he would have EASILY made it to 30 and scored more), and a 41 goals last season Considering he has a resume of consistent goal scoring that makes him very valuable and one of their best players so yeah he alone could get slavin but they dont need defense so the trade wouldnt happen.

I think this is too much for Slavin. This is an 80+ point guy, a top prospect, potentially a 1st (at least a 3rd) and a guy who's played really well since going to Chicago. Slavin is a top 10 d-man in the NHL if you ask me, but i wouldn't give up Debrincat, Strome, Beaudin, and a conditional 1st for him.
