Risto's trade value is so hard to predict. I still dont know what he is right now, but he's under contract and has had offensive production. If I had to pick one of those I guess I would say the Ehlers deal makes sense for both teams. I know the Sabres are deep at wing, but Ehlers fits their timeline with the core and is versatile. I do agree that the Sabres would most likely need to add a piece or 2.

Ehlers/Connor + pick for Risto + Couzens?

I'll just speak form the CHI perspective and let the other fan bases talk for their team. Risto doesn't make much sense in a Saad Risto straight up swap. The Hawks already have 8 Dmen looking to play 6 positions which does NOT include Boqvist looking to make the team. So a Dman would have to be sent back. But that's only where the problems start. Risto is a puck moving Dman. He actually takes care of the puck very well AND plays a lot of minutes, but the Hawks already have that position locked up for $1.2M in Gus. Gus is arguably a better player. Gus's season last year would have been a career year for Risto...BUT...he's only done it one year. They provide much of the same things. Getting Risto while Gus is still a Hawk is not smart at all. So now it's Saad and Gus for Risto. It's quite arguable that BUF gets (2) of the best players in this trade. Something very sizable would need to be sent back in return. Anyway....back to the point...it really just doesn't make sense for the Hawks to trade for Risto unless it's a blockbuster deal.

What would you ask from the Penguins? I like the Tampa trade because Gourde and Raddysh sounds like something you would put in a salad.

I don't think the Penguins have a legit top 6 forward that is on the market do they? Galchenyuk isn't what we are looking for. If B-stad is a 50 point center than maybe him but he hasn't shown that
