I don't think there's a package outside of a complete overpayment that would make the Caps move Ovi. Being an elite/franchise level player aside, he is the face of the Capitals franchise, and completely changed how hockey is viewed in DC.

Ovi is Ovi, but imo more advantage in keeping 63 now than 8 but everyone' opinion

Yeah, put business aside; WSH is just not moving Ovechkin because of how much he's done for them

Yeah, the only way they'd have traded him is if he was retiring and the Caps hadn't won a Cup yet. Now that he's hoisted the Cup, he's undoubtedly the best player in Caps history, and teams don't normally trade players like that...except for Gretzky.

Adjusted for era Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer of all time. I think the return for Ovechkin would have to be both young and generational for Washington to consider it and Marchand is neither

McAvoy contract is absolutely possible and likely. He’s a group 1 RFA. He won’t get paid a lot on a short deal.

That’s kinda funny, you literally listed the 2 terms that they would not get in a billion years. Both walk them right to UFA.

McAvoy wouldn’t get a lot on a bridge, he’s group 1 RFA, and Carlo doesn’t bring enough offense to get paid a lot.

So you don’t know what a group 1 RFA is...got it

As for Carlo, no, that’s very close to what he’d get on a 1 year deal. He’s good at defense but not stellar, and he’s averaging 10 points a season, even on an 8 year deal he wouldn’t get more than 4.7. You’re clearly a Detroit fan and don’t know the bruins very well, or know what a group 1 RFA is for mcavoy’s case.
