Toronto cap savings is the sweetener, all depends on contracts, but I would pull the trigger both ways.

Since you didn't even mention the signed Marner contract, a trade between the two teams is kinda meaningless.

if you look at advanced stats. Marner is slightly better. But Toronto probably has to put in a sweetener to say thanks for the lower salary on Rant

as a fan of neither team....wouldnt you rather have Rantanen if Marner wants 11 or more, and Rantanen might cost 9? I mean Marner isn't that far above him...Value contracts and depth win championships. If Toronto gives Marner 11 they'll never win with this core
