Please explain why Botterill goes out and trades for Vesey and then trades him before the season starts...makes no sense to me.

The Vesey trade is ridiculous. Why trade for him and then trade him

Also, if we trade ruostalainen we will never sign another european again. Who would trust us after we trade him 2 months later?
