I mean.. Poehling and Suzuki are both ready and already better + more effective than some guys on the roster, but I can see it yeah. I would play them both in top-9 if it was on me, but makes sense.

Poehling on the 4th line ? No thanks. Weal played great, 10 points in 16 games. He deserve a spot on the 4th line, 4C or RW. Poehling might makes the team, but I can’t see both.

Top-9 doesnt mean 4th line lol. This is what I was thinking about:

Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Domi-Kotkaniemi-Bjorkstrand (or Lehkonen)
Drouin-Poehling-Suzuki
Byron-Weal-Armia
Thompson, Cousins as spares.. and that is great lineup.

Doubt Poehling Suzuki on the same line, both rookies. But they are 100x better than Drouin defensively lmao

That would be really speedy line which could work together. Toronto lined up three rookies on the same line few years ago and it worked (Hyman-Matthews-Nylander, that would not be even close to this TOR line but still VERY effective 3rd line!)

Armia shouldn't be on the 4th line

Depth is also nice without them in the lineup smile. I think Suzuki will atleast start the season with Laval and Poehling will propably be on the wing if he makes the team. Kotkaniemi has to start the season as 3c imo, he's not ready to be 2c yet.

That's what I was thinking, they're basically the same kind of player (Size, age, contract) but Bjorkstrand has a better offense to his game. I don't know if his defensive play's as good as Lekhonen doe. It'd basically be trading to change scenery kind of trade. From the Montreal POV if Oliver is not a fire hazard in his own zone I'd gladly add a 4th or 5th round pick this year.

That's pretty much the point of the game. Having guys that shouldn't be that low but the team being so stacked makes them go down. you do not put offensive weapons like Payday or Zuke on the fourth but you can easily put defensive 3rd liner studs on a fourth and just enjoy it. They won't get mad and will even be fresher for late games defensive playtime and if injuries happen well you're not stuck with Thompson on your 3rd line as you got Armia and Byron.

I really don't think they will make Poehling play on the wing... But we can't say anything for sure because there could be surprises at camp and I think Poehling is ready for the NHL but I don't think playing a couple of games in the AHL would be bad, I really like Bouchard, and I think he can really help develop young players into better players.
