This trade could help both teams. BUF gets a good scoring winger and VGK gets a good offensive RHD they certainly have a need for.
Reaves for Hunwick is done in order to move salary.

Yeah as you can see, Smith's cap hit is $5M, Ristolainen's one if $5,4M and every $10K is a difference for VGK so

I don't think Vegas does it. Vegas has amazing forward depth. I don't think they trade that away for Risto. Risto's just such a hard person value. 24 years means he should be entering his prime and 3 years left on his deal with a decent cap is really good, but he's NOT a defensive Dman. But he's not exactly a scorer either. Roughly Half his points came from the PP last year and guess what he WON'T be doing on roughly half the teams in the NHL...leading the PP. That spots taken. So, what exactly would he be doing?

Schmidt does a pretty good job at it. Not saying he's the best, but it needs to be a factor in the trade.

Yeah, Schmidt is good.

Schmidt and Risto could form a great pair.
