Joel Edmundson 5x5 is a bit much. How good is he without pietrangelo?

Hes a big solid defensive defenceman (Nurse lite) and if im not mistaken he was playing with Parayko, Dunn was with Pietrangelo. But we have Wolanin, Chabot, Brannstrom as offensive D men, we need another big defensive D man

Bouwmeester was with parayko, edmunson was with pietrangelo, dunn was with bortuzzo

That's how the season ended because Edmundson fell out of the lineup. But the year before and the start of last season it was like that

because bouwmeester was hurt for most of last year and they were probably easing him back into minutes as a 35 year old defenseman. but still. Is Edmundson that good or is parayko/pietrangelo that good at carrying their d partner?

They could use a Mark Methot type of player like Edmundson. I remember the impact Methot had on the Sens when he left. Karlsson wasn't the same defensively after because Methot's presence in the back end allowed him to move the puck and be more offensive, just the way he thrives. Bringing in Edmundson could really boost Chabot or Brännström's impact on offense, which could really go a long way.

But somebody said it. At 5 million $, it may be a bit much.

One more thing. Keep in mind Bernard-Docker and Lassi Thomson are on their way soon and they may both be competing for a roster spot in 2020-21. They could be eased in on the third pairing while Edmundson handles top 4 duties, or they could start the season in Belleville.

I think thts what he gets on the open market tho and hed only be 26 which isn't bad for a 5 year deal
