Finally people are starting to realize that Horny is the one that needs to go (that has any chance at being slightly movable) to get us under the cap next year

2 years of declining Bonino > 4 years of declining Hörnqvist

1 year or Frolik > 4 years of Johnson. Can't afford to take Rust.

Try again.

I still think hornqvist has some value. Nashville doesn’t have cap space to afford him but I could see a team like Carolina or Buffalo being interested

BUF has less cap space than Preds. CAR has $1M more, but after they sign Williams they don't have even that.

If Carolina doesn’t resign Williams I can see it. He’s a great analytic guy

I try to look at things objectively and realistically. A lot of people on this site let their personal feelings cloud their ability to properly analyze players.

pretty sure he has a full no trade clause through the 20-21 season before it turns into a limited no trade clause....unfortunately, i don't think he is going anywhere...but I agree he needs to go

he has value, he's just on a bad contract....but then again, most of the pens players not named Crosby/Dumo/Guentzel are it seems.

Murray expires this year. So I wouldn't count it, until the new is signed.

I remember when pens won back to back cups and their worst contracts were Kunitz and Daley. Both made under 4 million and were major contributors to our sucesss

When they signed Letang to that contract, I hated it...thought it was too much for too long for a guy who couldn't and can't stay healthy. At 7+ mill I still think it's too steep. The Malkin contract is ok, not great...At 9.5 mil, it's not like it's huge value or anything. He and Malkin come up at the same time after 3 seasons too...Murray's contract was good, but he's up at the end of the year.

The Letang contract was the worst IMO. Paying a guy 7.25 mil who didn't even play, and still won the 2nd cup.

Letang is one of the best defensemen in the leauge when healthy. Malkin has been over a point per game every single season of his career except once. Those contracts are both very fair. Malkin would make over 11 million on an open market and letang would make around 9.
