Honestly this would make sense but I can see Columbus either wanting a little more or them just not wanting to get rid of werenski but the trade does make sense on paper

They can afford to lose laine with the talent in the top 6 but I doubt Columbus let's werenski go... werenski and Jones would be pretty amazing in the years to come

IMO the jets lose this trade. Goal scoring is at a premium and Laine is one of the best. People knock his defensive game, but the guy is 21 and has 110 goals already. He could be one of the best goal scorers the NHL has seen in a long time. He can work on his D, but you cant work on being an elite goal scorer

Torts and Laine would not work. That would be the beginning of the end for Laine.

honestly pretty fair trade value wise....Laine has higher ceiling but is very inconsistent and one dimensional...werenski is solid and plays more important position that WPG is in need of....

however as one person commented above-i think Tortarella would lose his mind and maybe resign as coach if they did this trade...Laine is the exact sort of player that finds himself in Tort’s doghouse 2 weeks in

This would be about the most fair one for one I've ever seen.

No disrespect to Werenski but the hardest thing to do in Hockey is score goals and Laine seemingly does it at will. If a 30 goal season for a 21 year old is a "down year" buckle up! Columbus would definitely do this trade
