Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Team Explanation
Marner will likely not start the year because he's a baby and just want a OS with the terms he want and Toronto match. He want to stay in Toronto but want his 5 years term a 11+ millions.

Wait and see what the team can do without him. In November trade him because Nylander will step up his game, samething for Kapanen Johnsson and Kerfoot.

With that team they,re not going to loose.
That's a part of a trade. You'll never know if the player you acquire will step up

they wont lose, but they wont be a top 5 contending team, where they would be with marner in the lineup...

when teams trade a star player, they almost always lose the trade. #facts

I'd rather roll with Dobson and Wahlstrom and those picks. We're going to be in cap hell if we bring in Marner and don't move out serious salary. It makes more fiscal sense to go with what we have

Am I wrong in saying that it would be better for Toronto to not be top-5 contending team with less pressure to play deep in the playoffs and they will be better that way while also saying that trading Marner and Marner sitting would be bad for them?

uhm I think so... Ur just thinking that because of that, since the caps won the cup when they had alot of downgrades.

Still looking back at it, I would rather the 2017 caps team then the 2018 caps team if they were going to enter the playoffs again.

Not because of Capitals, but that is good point to that too. I was thinking that because of the overall pressure on the team throughout the year to perform on certain level. I think it would be better to not be contender than to be top-5 team in the league.. and to your second point about looking back at caps.. I agree.

I would personally always want the best team out there for a chance to win.. but ur right pressure and expectations clearly have a HUGE impact.. TBL last year exhibit A

I would love to see Toronto trade Marner, I don't even care the team. All I care is that Marner is no longer in the division. He was the only player that legit scared me during the playoffs. Neither Matthews not JT took over a game against Boston. Marner was a lot more noticeable.
