They are a very deep team and will benefit from having Carter Hart for a full season, plus the additions of Niskanen and Hayes could push them into the playoffs. Metro will be very close though

Jets make the playoffs. They have the talent to at least make it (at least over the blackhawks) If some things go right they could win the division.

Central and Atlantic look good. Pacific id switch the 3rd and 4th team. Metro needs some work. I wouldn't bet on the Isles and I dont think Philly gets a division spot maybe wild card.

3 team make it per division, Flyers are wildcard.

I agree Central is completely whack

Dallas improved, Colorado improved, St Louis stayed the same, Nashville kind of improved (added Duchene, lost Subban), Chicago improved. Jets almost have the same team minus Trouba and Myers. How could they win the division

I didn't mean to come across as a dick, I just think they got worse this off-season and the rest of the metro got better. I'm also not a fan of AV and think he will take them in the wrong direction

They also have potentially Forst, Farabee and Myers playing which could push everyone down and get easier minutes

Jets got worse this offseason while almost all of the other central teams got better, i dont think the Jets will come close to winning the division

That's the thing with AV, he's notoriously bad with rookies/young players. If you have a veteran roster and are ready to compete he's your guy, but that's not what the flyers are

If Varly can return to form under Trotz and his defensive play style I think they could be a very good team again. I have PHI 4th in the metro so they would be in a wildcard spot

I think he will lean on a lot of Giroux, Hayes, Voracek, JVR, Niskanen, Braun etc

Also, if the Rangers get a #2C theyre a lock for a division spot with Carolina and Washington imo and then you have Pitt, Isles, Philly and Devils battling for wild card

I dont think there are any locks in the metro. I think that division will be so close in points its hard to predict right now without knowledge of injures

@moli92
The jets finished with 99 points after falling apart in the 2nd half. Before the break they were 2nd in the league. Then injuries happened, locker room issues (reportedly between buff and Trouba) and the season just fell apart. Not to mention that goaltending was sub par the whole year. However to say we really lost a lot this offseason is false. Myers will easily be replaced by niku. Pionk can serve as a half replacement for Trouba. However the biggest loss is that the jets lost Trouba and they can’t replace that. However, having 3 elite defensemen is a luxury that the jets could no longer afford. So minus Trouba but the jets improve everywhere else. Niku equal to myers. Appleton over Tanev. Copp got much better in the playoffs and could be the 2c so copp over little. Also add in our own Calder candidate in Vesalainen. If this kid lands a top 9 job, look out. And most importantly, goaltending will improve big time. I do think the jets got worse but so minimally that it’s almost insignificant. They will be around he same mark of 100pts. This is a team that should’ve had 110+ points but fell apart. Losing one Trouba won’t cause them to drop out of the playoffs

How much did Dallas improve? They added a 30 goal scorer yes. Then added a 3rd liner in perry. They didn’t really improve beyond pavelski.

Yes colorado improved but their offence is still not as good as the like of Nashville and WPG. Their defence is equal to Nashville and better than WPG. Their goaltending is equal.

St. Louis was not better than WPG for most of that series in the playoffs (only game 6). Hellebuyck got off to a slow start and the jets just didn’t show up for game 6 and that proved to be the difference.

Nashville stays the same imo. Didn’t improve really and didn’t lose anything

Chicago improves but not enough for the playoffs imo. Not to mention that goaltending is a question mark

im curious to hear your reasoning for how a 2C makes NYR a lock and also why on paper you like them much more than NJ PHI and PITT

They added a top 2 D man in Trouba a top 10 NHL player in Panarin, theyre gonna have Kakko, Kravtsov to add to the lineup. Another year to add to Chytil and Howden's development. So, I think if they added a 2C, lets take RNH for example, it would give them a deep forward group like this:
Panarin-Zibanejad-Buchnevich
Kreider-RNH-Kakko
Chytil-Howden-Kravtsov
Lemieux-Andersson-Fast

and spread the D would look like this:
Skjei-Deangelo
Hajek-Trouba
Staal-Fox

and they still have a solid HL in net and backed up by Georgiev and soon Shesterkin
