Description

Wanted to see what this might look like. Flames need a LD. Both have similar contracts, Flames get the cap savings, Stars get the slightly better player. Dallas could definitely use the fwd depth vs. on D. All things considered both sides fill a need with pretty equal asset values. Thoughts?

Oleksiak keeps getting traded for fourth picks. I think teams line up to pay a second rounder for Bennett. Values are way off, and I think the Flames brass likes Bennett too much to move him unless it's in a package for a huge piece to the team moving forward (theoretical Hall trade as the player in the player + prospect + first +).

I would send a late pick + Czarnik for Honka and sign him to a 2 x 900k. Dallas gets a cheap 3rd/4th line guy with some skill & speed for their 7th defense man. We could then run:
Gio - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Brodie - Honka

or

Gio - Brodie
Hanifin - Hamonic
Kylington - Andersson

If I'm Dallas I say yes to that. We won't have much cap flexibility, but the need for a bottom 6 player is higher than our need for Honka. He's fallen beyond 7 at this point, would be good to give him a fresh start. Let's make that happen.
