I don't understand why people keep putting players who are going on IR onto LTIR in their rosters. That's not how this works

How long is valimaki out for? Regardless flames won’t run that tight to the cap.

They probably will LTIR Valimaki if they want to call up Davidson or whatever veteran 1 year UFA they get as the #7D to travel with the team.

To answer OP, everyone will fit by not overpaying Mangiapane (likely 1M or less) and getting Tkachuk's $ down by going with a lower term (likely < Aho's deal). I predict Treliving won't go higher than 2 x 1M for Mangiapane, and 5 x $8M or 3 x $7.5M for Tkachuk. There's the million you'd need to keep Frolik, but I don't hate the Grabner for Frolik move. I don't think he'd fit with Lucic and Janko though (he'd lap them out there on the ice).

Players can be put on LTIR if they are expected to miss at least 10 NHL games or 24 days of the season. I'm no doctor, but I'd bet that he won't be ready to go by the end of October, so he'll definitely be on LTIR if and when the Flames need to put him there.

This roster doesn't really work. Even if the trade goes through (doubtful), the Flames are right at the cap with 21 man roster. Might have to virtually give Frolik away and be happy with it.

He is waivers exempt, so no need to put him on the roster.
