In my opinion the Hawks offseason gets a B+.
In many ways they have stabilized their back end, and added more depth to an already stacked forward group. The moves they made should push them into a playoff spot, or at the very least keep them close until the very end. I predict a best case finish of 3rd in the Central, and a Worst case finish of 5th in the Central. Overall Chicago will be a much tougher team to play against, and they are a very good Dark Horse team to make noise this season.

Murphy can play the Left side, and a Gus and Seabrook dont play well together.

The only trade I would consider bad would be the Nylander for Jokijarju trade. I would also say that its too soon to tell, and that the stigma around the trade is undeserved... at least for now.

Smith for Anisimov was bad imo.
He has combined for 14 goals in 2 years.

On a **** Ottawa team if you can call it one? Cmon man. Anisimov if you paid attention to the games, he literally had no role on the team. He looked lost out there without 2 elite wingers on his line. I’ll take smith with a role over anisimov being put on the ice because we had no cap any day of the week. Let’s not forget most of his goals were reflections on pp. also trash at faceoffs

I think Shaw was an underrated pickup and I think the defense did improve a bit. They need a lot to go right, but I think they’ll sneak in.

I'll take your word on Anisimov but Smith? Hmm...I got to see more of him and was not impressed to say the least.
Hopefully in Chicago he turns it around.

He is not great, but he is depth who will have a job which will be grit. I’ll take him over old ass Kunitz who should have retired 2 years ago. Plus we get carpenter over Kruger, shaw as added depth as well. On paper the hawks look really good without even considering dach or Boqvist
