If Laine only signs for $7 million per he stays in Winnipeg, His rumored price is closer to $10 million per over 7 years or so.

he probably is curious about trade value, who cares if the contract is for 7 mill or 15 mill the ducks have 30m in space before this trade

Actually I like the trade. Jets get a two good players at three years each...for Laine...controllable for four years. Ducks might win big if they can get productive Laine to sign long term. But for team with cap issues, and a window of opportunity....this trade just might be good thing for the Jets.. Good thought.

Why would Laine accept way less term than I'm sure he wants AND way less money? As a Ducks fan I'd make this trade but Winnipeg sure wouldn't and there's no way Laine takes a deal that small to play for a team like the Ducks. I don't see why he would accept that kind of contract from us and not Winnipeg.
