They could make it work. If worst comes to worst they could move the entire 4th line out and replace them with ELCs (Newhook, Bowers, etc) and cheap vets. That alone saves about 6M, plus EJ could be moved and replaced with another cheap D (Meloche, Helleson, etc) for another 5M in savings. Add in the cap increase (probably about 3M) and that's about 14M to work with for raises for Makar, Grubauer and Landy. Easily doable.

As for the Byram and Mackinnon contract expirations, that's 2-3 seasons seasons away from the timeline of this post. No point in worrying about that when you create a powerhouse that can win now

Maybe if hall signed for 9mill for 4 years or something maybe a bit longer... which I dont think he will

To many guys to resign next year and the year after : burakovsky, zadorov, jost, kamenev, then landy, makar, timmins, grubauer. And if any of them have a spectacular season with a substantial raise it kinda puts them in a leafs, rangers, Golden knights, etc situation

I do like the idea and would love to see him in an avs jersey

I just thought I'd open one up and see what you're all about. Happened to pick this one.
On a real note, Idk who'd be dumb enough to give him that kind of money.

I bet a lot of teams will if he's healthy and has another 90+ point season

look what Panarin got, and he was offered 12M+ by a couple teams too. Throw in an extra year of cap increases and a healthy Taylor Hall and I think thats a recipe for a 12M AAV contract
