As a non BUF fan what makes you think highly of Reinhart? As far as I can see from the outside he’s a an above Average 2nd line guy

He's a very smart player who had just continued to get better every year. Much more complete player than Laine.

The development he has shown every year and his high hockey IQ.

In addition to what's stated above he is also excellent in his own end. Always in position and doesn't turn the puck over. He may be "a second line guy" statistically when it comes to offense at this point in his career but the strong defensive game with a high IQ and great puck distribution ability means he is the perfect compliment to Eichel and Skinner. Laine is a one-dimensional shooter albeit a great one. With the hopes around Olofsson though we may already have one of those for our second line.

Other guys answered. As the team gets better and scores more his points will increase too.

I understand whats said above and i agree with all of it, but saying hes great in his own end is pretty Bias'd as all the numbers have him actually pretty below average defensively.

PDO of: 99
oiS% only at 0.903%

Keep in mind this is while hes getting 62% of his starts in the offensive zone.

Ullmark >>> Brossoit

And there is no way I'm trading Reinhart...he's Eichel's best friend, they have excellent chemistry together, and Reinhart actually wants to be in Buffalo (which is rare).

Laine is a good player, but he's one-dimensional and I wouldn't want his attitude in the locker room.

Reinhart averages .62 PPG on an awful team, Laine averages .78 PPG on a playoff team...put Reinhart on Winnipeg and he'd be just as good as Laine.

Reinhart also plays defense and he won't cost as much as Laine will want.

Laine just had 50 points, Reinhart had 65 points.

This is an awful trade for Buffalo...Botterill should be fired if he did this.

You're not very smart then.

He's a 65 point player on one of the worst teams in the NHL...and that's while constantly being switched from line to line.

Nylander has 61 points every says he’s overpaid while he plays with Hyman. Belesky had 20 goals, Maroon had 45 points. Does that mean they are Always insane players? Mcdavid has 110 points with statistically the 3-4th line wingers. Look up “Brooks Law” it’s a theory that more people does not increase productivity in this case better players will not make Reinhart better
