you would need him to play with mcdavid and draisatl for that kind of production even then thats a huge stretch for the kid.

if you think he won't break thirty with hall and nico idk what to tell you. last year was almost a half point a game with zero iq players

as far as 70, def a stretch, but you're positioning him to succeed

where did i say anywhere in my statement he wouldnt break 30? i think at best he will be a 2nd line player but right now he is a 3rd liner and has had a very slow development.

Almost half? .41? Dude has 76 points total over 3 seasons. Would be one he** of a breakout

My idea for Zacha right now would be to play him on the second line as Center with Hughes at LW and Gusev at RW. Let's Hughes get acclimated to the NHL at first and it would mean that he also wouldn't be taking faceoffs right away. Plus Zacha balances out Hughes/ Gusev who are more offensive playmakers and adds some size to their line.

If Hughes/ Zacha/ Gusev play great together and Hughes adjusts to the NHL quickly you can then move Zacha over to LW and still have the same line.

If a guy needs to be playing with two high end players in order to put up 70, he's not a true 70 point player nor is it a "breakout season". It just sets you up to overpay the guy on his next contract

I said 30 because he has never broken 30

correct i didn't say you said he would, but if he gets 25 playing 4th line with fill ins and miles wood, hes a lock for 30 with hall and hischier

secondly, its not a secret that high end draft picks can struggle when buried in the line up, when you play with ahlers and people like miles wood (who i like but is basically a train with no finish on the ice) its difficult to put of gawdy #'s

time and time again, you see zacha putting together plays and his linemates not being able to keep up. There's a reason edmonton is looking for someone to play with mcdavid. Contrary to popular belief you can't just throw someone out there. Mcdavid and crosby are productive because theyre the best players in the world. Zacha is good, but hes not a top player in the world. Give him legitimate top 6 talent and see whether he can reach the potential he was drafted for. A high end offensively skilled center who puts up 25 points on the 4th line in a defensive role, should be capable of better things with higher iq linemates

correct .41 is almost half a point...

heres the math 1 divided by 2 is .5

.41 is .09 less than .5 = half a point

therefore .41 is almost half a point a game last season, which is exactly what i said.
